Kassie's Story

Throughout her academic journey, she has honed her skills through diverse clinical placements. These experiences have encompassed leadership roles, paediatrics, mental health, and mild traumatic brain injury rehabilitation. However, her heart has always been with the little ones. Her passion for paediatric care ignited at the young age of 16, and it has continued to burn brightly ever since.

Her mission as a paediatric OT is to provide neurodiversity-affirming care. She firmly believes that every child is unique and should be celebrated for their individuality. She is dedicated to equipping children with the tools they need to thrive in a variety of environments, tailoring therapy plans to meet their specific needs and goals.

In her practice, she values both verbal and nonverbal communication. She understands that effective communication is vital for establishing trust and delivering patient-centered care. She works closely with children, their families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic and collaborative approach to therapy.

In her pursuit to offer the highest quality care, she has completed the following post graduate training:

  • Sensory Defensiveness: A Comprehensive Treatment Approach presented by Julia Wilbarger and Dave Jereb

  • Tomatisâ Level 1 presented by The Tomatis Method

  • Level 1-Cultural Awareness Course presented by Indigenous Allied Health Australia

  • Level 2- Unpacking the Framework presented by Indigenous Allied Health Australia

  • PowerUp for Participation presented by Sheila Frick

As she steps into the world of paediatric occupational therapy, she is excited to blend her academic knowledge with her passion for working with children. Her goal is to make a positive impact on the lives of young individuals and their families, empowering them to reach their full potential.
