Intensive Programs

The GCFC offers in-term and school holiday intensive programs throughout the year across the Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Speech Therapy teams. These can be done either 1:1, in group or in consultation with joint therapists/disciplines.

An OT intensive is typically run over 5-10 days, with 1-2 hours of therapy a day. A sound based intervention program such as Tomatis®, Auditory Integration Training (AIT), Safe & Sound Protocol by iLs or Therapeutic Listening is used in conjunction with sensory input in the OT gyms. Current research supports that intermittent bursts of intensive therapy during development is beneficial to children for them to learn and re-learn movements and to refine skills
