OT Explorers is a program where we explore our beautiful local surrounds with our clients, to support their emotional & physical development through nature based activities. With reduced motor demands, this allows for increased engagement and social skill development whilst having loads of fun in a supported way!
The program runs over 5 days and includes bush walking , bike riding, water adventures and horse riding. Equine therapy is such a powerful form of therapy and has been shown to promote physical, occupational, and emotional growth in individuals.
Water Adventure (during summer months)
Water adventure days are run in the January and April school holidays. We typically head down to either Jellybean or Blue Pool in the Glenbrook National Park.

We typically take the train up the mountains and explore local caves and waterfalls which luckily are a short stroll from the station. Our Explorers learn about using their Opal cards, being safe on the platform and being respectful when on the train. We also learn to read the timetable and minter which stop we are at.
Bush Walking
During our bushwalking sessions, we have the opportunity to explore many local trails, which affords us the experiences of climbing, water play, and navigating our way through the bush.
Bush Skills
During our bush skill sessions we may build fires and roast marshmallows, make forts or cook bush food (dampa)
