Playground Power

The aim of this group is to help prepare your child for the social challenges that may arise in commencing school. This group supports children to learn and practice many of the playground games that they may encounter at school within a positive and supportive environment.

The group also aims to develop their ability to organise their belongings, greet and say goodbye to others, engage with children in play, maintain engagement in group activities even throughout conflict, manage their lunchbox packaging, work with others on joint tasks, share and take turns as well as to listen and wait during group activities.
 

Sessions will run for 90 minutes and the outline for each session will be as followed:
- Meet and greet
- Playground game
- Snack time
- Group time which may include a story, fine motor activity and/or art project
- Pack up and goodbye
