
Abbey Forster
Abbey graduated from Macquarie University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Speech and Hearing Science, and 2014 with a Master of Speech and Language Pathology. She went on to complete a Postgraduate Certificate in Autism Studies in 2016 from Griffith University. Abbey joined the Gabrielle Centre for Children in 2025.
Abbey's Story
Abbey graduated from Macquarie University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Speech and Hearing Science, and 2014 with a Master of Speech and Language Pathology. She went on to complete a Postgraduate Certificate in Autism Studies in 2016 from Griffith University. Abbey joined the Gabrielle Centre for Children in 2025.
With over a decade of clinical experience in schools, preschools, and the community, and a background of six years of disability support work, Abbeyhas spent her career supporting, learning from, and just hanging out with, hundreds of incredibly cool people who have shaped her work and world view. This unique perspective, combined with her lived experience of ADHD, drives Abbey’s dedication to neurodiversity-affirming care. She focuses on evidence-based practice that practically increases quality of life for people of all ages. Abbey's clinical experience encompasses communication goals across speech, fluency (stuttering), voice, language, literacy, social communication, and AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication). Above all, she is an advocate for self-advocacy, empowerment through education, and helping people find their own voice in the community.
